Imphal, August 22 2020: Maibam Ongbi Bimola Devi Memorial Award-2020 will be conferred on Tahir Sajbam of Cachar Singerbond for his poetry book "Lakani Amuk Hanna", said a statement of Eeramdam Khorjei Apunba Lup, Hiyanglam-Wabagai.

The biennial award was instituted by former Hiyanglam AC MLA, Late Maibam Kunjo in memory of his beloved wife Bimola Devi.

The award which includes a cash reward of Rs 10,000, a shawl and a citation, is currently sponsored by social worker Maibam Dhanabir, son of Late Maibam Kunjo, it said.

However, the award distribution function held normally on August 30, has been postponed owing to the prevailing COVID-19 situation, it said while adding that a new date will be intimated as soon as situation permits.
