National Book Trust certificate course concludes

A two-week certificate course in Book Publishing, organised by National Book Trust (NBT), MHRD, GoI from February 10 concluded today at the Dept of Commerce, MU.
The function was attended by Prof Robita Sarokhaibam, Former HoD of Commerce, MU and Narender Kumar, Training Officer, NBT as the chief guest and the guest of honour, respectively.
Prof Kh Tomba Singh, HoD, MU presided over the function.
A book, written by Prof Kh Tomba, titled " Occupational Stress Strategies for Management in Work Place" was also released by during the function.
40 trainees including two from Kerala took part in the course which was coordinated by Prof Kh Tomba.
Narender Kumar, while speaking at the function, stated that the objective of the course is to provide the trainees with an overall view of book publishing as a profession.
He appealed to all the participants to submit manuscripts and asserted that NBT will help in publishing them.
Prof Robita Sarokhaibam said the Government of India is focusing more on the entrepreneurship skill development.
She stated that students and research scholars, in particular, are in very much need of publishing knowledge which will help in publish their research articles and books.
Dr Sureh Chand, expert on Copyright & ISBN, Vivek Mehra, CEO, Sage Publication Delhi, Sanjay Sethi, CEO, Metrix Publishers and GS Jolly, Ex Associate Professor, DU delivered lectures on different aspects of book publishing and new insights into the associated laws and ethics of this profession.
