DFO bars entry of sand loaded trucks

Imphal, July 21 2022: Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Kangpokpi N Ganesh has warned that trucks carrying sand from Dimapur (Nagaland) into the state will be either seized or made to pay fine under Indian Forest Act (Amendment), 2018 and Manipur Forest Rule, 2021 if the vehicles do not possess transit pass (TP) or relevant documents.

Issuing a notice in this regard, DFO Ganesh said that illegal entry of sand loaded trucks into the state from Dimapur without transit pass has led to loss of state's exchequer to around Rs 3 lakh daily.

Accordingly, sand loaded trucks without transit pass and relevant documents will be either seized or made to pay fine under relevant sections of Indian Forest Act (Amendment), 2018 and Manipur Forest Rule, 2021 under the jurisdiction of Kangpokpi forest division, the notice added.
