UGs involved in killing ministers' workers nabbed

Imphal, June 21 2011:
Police interrogation into three arrested KCP (City Meetei) revealed that they were involved in various cases of attacks at the residents of ministers and their workers including in the killing of a woman worker of state Agriculture minister, Ph Parijat and that of minister N Loken Singh.
Shukham Ananta Meitei @ Nanao @ Salai (20) son of S Muhindro Singh, Keisham Bindu Singh (37) son of K Achoubi and Okram Somorjit Meitei (24) son of Chandra Meitei, all from the same village of Thamnapokpi, were arrested from their respective houses by a combined force of Imphal East district police commandos and troops of 23 AR on June 18.During verification, police revealed that Ananta joined the outfit in March 2008 and got basic military training in Bangladesh under Army no.11023, second batch of the KCP(City Meetei) group and holding the rank of 'ss corporal' and working under the command of one 'ss corporal' .
Further he admitted his involvement in shooting and killing of a woman of minister Ph Parijat on July 28, 2010 at Sabungkhok.
K Bindu, who is an active member of the same outfit, was involved in extortion of Rs 5 lakhs from one Rani of Yourbung, a member of the village council while Somorjit Meitei disclosed that he joined the group in March 2010 .
He was involved in killing of a worker of minister N Loken Singh at Wahengkhuman in the month of April 2010 and shooting of Shyamkeshor, president of Yaigangpokpi Bazar Board near Leimakhong Mapal in the month of August 2010.He also involved in extortion of Rs one lakh from Shija hospital.
During a follow up action one 9 mm pistol loaded with three live rounds was recovered from the cattle-shed of Okram Somorjit at his instance and one 9 mm pistol loaded with two live rounds of 9 mm ammunition from the room of Ananta at his instance, a police source said.
