Kangpokpi, February 21 2017:
Underscoring the essence of ethical and respectable voting, Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA), under the umbrella of Kuki National Organization (KNO), today called for free, fair and clean election in the ensuing 11th Manipur State Assembly Election, 2017 .
The organization's information and publicity secretary, T Simte stated that many elections in the past may have gone with different kinds of immoral and unrespectable voting practice but time has come now to put an end to such culture and promote ethical and respectable election on the part of all communities of the society.
He said that as political campaigning heats up ahead of the Phase-I election on March 4, it is imperative on the part of all voters and candidates to collectively embrace the ethical ways of election while evading all unprofessional conduct and scandalous activities of the past elections which only produced polluted electioneering and polluted administration.
While drawing the attention of all eligible voters in the three ACs of Kangpokpi district including 51-Saitu AC, 50- Kangpokpi AC and 46-Saikul AC, the outfit further said that KNO/KRA will categorically promote peaceful, free and fair election in the upcoming State Assembly election.
"We urge eligible voters of the three ACs of Kangpokpi district to flood the polling stations and to cast their votes ethically with their hearts and minds because when every eligible citizen vote intelligently and ethically the society as a whole would change dramatically for the benefit of all", T Simte asserted.
51-Saitu AC reportedly being stated to see a tough battle, KNO/KRA appealed to all and sundry to promote peaceful electioneering and ethical voting on March 4 .
Urging all the eligible voters to think beyond campaign promises and to focus on the bigger picture, T Simte motivated voters of 51-Saitu AC in particular to boldly use their franchise rights in the best ethical way and avoid providing space to immoral voting.
He also appealed to all concerned not to disturb the peaceful environment by harassing and threatening the voters only in the interest of one vested individual.
He further said that KNO/KRA will remain a peaceful promoter of ethical voting but will not tolerate even a single unethical electioneering in all the three ACs of Kangpokpi including 51-Saitu AC.
"Every vote counts, thus, if there ever was a time to embrace ethical voting, stop spinning, stop manipulating, stop relying on supporters or sympathizers to do wrong knowing that our own wrongdoing will be covered up in some way, that time is now," Simte averred.
The outfit, under the umbrella of KNO, is engaged in a tripartite talk and urged all denizens of Kangpokpi district to give ethical voting a chance to change society and put an end to immoral voting culture in the district.
