Three more Health and Wellness Centres inaugurated in Thoubal

Thoubal, August 20 2018: Three Health and Wellness Centres in Thoubal district were simultaneously inaugurated by District Health Society Thoubal under the aegis of National Health Mission today.

The centres built under Ayushman Bharat scheme, are located in different locations namely Khongjom, Tentha and Langathel, under Wangjing Tentha constituency.

There are four Health and Wellness Centre in Thoubal district including the newly inaugurated centres with Wangjing Tentha clinching the status of a constituency with maximum Health and Wellness Centres in Thoubal district.

The very first centre was inaugurated by Health Minister L Jayantakumar on August 11 at Tekcham.

The main event of the inaugural ceremony, organised by District Health Society Thoubal was held at Khongjom Primary Health Centre in which local MLA Paonam Brojen attended as chief guest, Langathel Zilla Parishd member Khangembam Manisang as president, DC Thoubal H Rosita, w/o of the MLA P Shama, social worker S Brajeshwor, CMO Thoubal Dr N Jayentakumar and Tekcham GP Pradhan Iboyaima as guests of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Brojen elaborated on numerous health related initiatives taken up by the Prime Minister including Ayushman Bharat, which upgrades and improves the health services and facilities at Primary Health Centres and changing them into Health and Wellness Centres.

For the State, the vision is to change 30 PHCs into Health and Wellness Centres while seven PHCs will be turned or upgrade into HWCs as a first phase initiative.

Congratulating Chief Minister N Biren and Health Minister L Jayentakumar, he stated that the HWCs will provide ample of conveniences to the people while appealing the people to avail the improved facilities at the newly inaugurated centres.
