Blessing ceremony of Hunger Marchers' Day drama held

Imphal, July 20 2022: The blessing ceremony of Hunger Marchers' Day drama was held at AMSU head office, DM University campus here on Wednesday.

The ceremony was performed by paying floral tributes to photo of renowned director of the play Birjit Ngangomba by artistes and members of AMSU.

Speaking in this regard, AMSU president Haobijam Chalamba informed that August 27 is being observed as Hunger Marchers' Day every year to commemorate the students' movement of 1965 .

However, the observance could not be conducted properly for the last two years due to Covid-19 pandemic, he continued, while adding that the observance will be organised by presenting the drama this time.

While urging the people to join the observance, Chalamba said that the drama is to be presented to make the people know about the movement, wherein three students and an All India Radio driver attained martyrdom and also to ignite the sense of nationalism among the people.
