2319 people take part in Health Melas

New Delhi/Imphal, April 20 2022:
A total of 2319 people have participated in the ongoing block level health melas across the state.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in collaboration with states and union territories is celebrating the 4th anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs) under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav from April 16 to 22.From April 18 to 22, Block level Health Melas at more than one lakh AB-HWCs in at least one block in each district of the state/UTs are being organised across the country.
Each block level Health Mela would be for one day and each block in the state/UT will be covered.
As on Tuesday, Manipur had witnessed a footfall of 2319 persons at eight such events during which 151 ABHA health IDs have been created and 107 PMJAY Golden cards generated.
The state also witnessed 95 tele-consultations, 202 cataract screenings, 324 screening of hypertension and 137 diabetes screenings while 46 pregnant women were tested for Hepatitis B till Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the second Block Health Mela for Bishnupur and Thoubal districts was held on Wednesday.
In Bishnupur, the mela conducted at District Hospital was organised by District Health Society, Bishnupur.
Participated by various departments, around 30 stalls were set up for the event during which medicines and sanitary pads were distributed free of cost.
Creation of Health ID cards for CMHA & NCD; CMHT & AB-PMJAY were the highlights of the mela.
The Block Health Mela also provided free vaccination facilities along with cataract screening, hearing impairment, Gynae OPD with USG, Dermatology, Lab.

Bishnupur Municipal Council chairperson L Maniyaima Singh, CMO Dr L Raichandra Singh, and AC to DC, Bishnupur Ejaj Hassan were presidium members of the inaugural function.
The third and final Block Health Mela for the district will be held at CHC Moirang on April 22 for Moirang Block.
