Covid-19 claims three more lives, infects 57

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to take its toll, the highly infectious virus has claimed three more lives and newly infected 57 out of 1778 samples tested in the last 24 hours registering a daily positivity rate of 3.21 per cent against Thursday's 3.54 per cent.
The three death cases took the total number of fatalities to 1959 .
They were residents of Imphal West, Kakching and Chandel districts.
None of them were vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the active caseload rose to 588 out of which only 37 (6.29 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only five reported fresh Covid cases on Friday with Imphal West topping at 41 .
In terms of positivity rate too, Imphal West district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 6.7 per cent while Bishnupur and Chandel districts recorded lowest positivity rate at 2.1 per cent each.
Churachandpur, Jiribam, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong, Tengnoupal, Thoubal and Ukhrul districts were free from the disease in the said period.
So far, the state has recorded 95,357 positive cases and 1585 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 1026 new positive cases and 38 death cases out of which 374 new cases and 17 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, 56 of the positive cases (26 male & 30 female) are from among the general population and one from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (5) and other testing centres (51).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (12), Imphal West (40), Bishnupur (2), Chandel (1) and Kamjong (1) .
In the last 24 hours, 50 persons were discharged from home isolation (20), RIMS (1), JNIMS (15) and CCCs (17).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,24,757 (general population -1,20,395 and CAPF personnel - 4,362) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,22,210 (general population -1,17,869 and CAPF personnel - 4,341) and number of active cases is 588 (general population - 572 and CAPF personnel - 16).The recovery rate is 97.96 per cent.
A total of 255 D-type and 91 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Whereas, 6246 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,67,217 including 8,23,202 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,626), Imphal East (27,671), Thoubal (9468), Churachandpur (10,171), Kangpokpi (2783), Tamenglong (3283), Bishnupur (9190), Senapati (2239), Ukhrul (2979), Kakching (6421), Chandel 2347 , Noney (1072), Tengnoupal (1072), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (949) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (652), Imphal East (466), Thoubal (176), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (191), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (43), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,205 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,658 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,51,131 tests per million population against the national average of 4,49,975 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.57 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1778 samples were testedand the single day positivity rate was 3.21 per cent per cent while the cumulative, positivity came down to 8.91 per cent.
