Loktak Inland Transport Complex inaugurated

Ahead of the Sangai Festival, Chief Minister N Biren Singh today inaugurated the 84.33 lakh-Loktak Inland Transport Complex (LITC) at Sendra which will benefit dwellers along the coasts of Loktak, improve and ease transportations bottleneck in the area.
The construction of the Loktak Inland Transport Complex was started phase-wise in 2013 with some mini complexes.
The current LITC is the second phase of the project under the Ministry of Shipping, Govt of India with a budget of 84.33 lakh.
Six more complexes are in the pipeline.
Earlier, Sangai Run, a half marathon was flagged off by N Biren Singh as a curtain raiser of Sangai festival.
Speaking at the event, N Biren Singh said that the transport complex will ease transportation and foster a good and lasting relations with the villagers dwelling in the surrounding area of Loktak Lake.
He further stressed the importance of developing tourism in the State.
The ChiefMinister further said, the fact that 'foreign athletes' are taking part in the Sangai Run is indeed a sign that Manipur is being recognized as a tourists destination.
Hinting that investors from outside are interested in developing infrastructures like Five Star Hotels and Golf Course, he appealed the people in the region to promote peace among communities and stop bandhs and blockade which will scare off potential investors.
He further appealed people in the region to grant free access to tourists at all time.
MP Rajya Sabha and president BJP Manipur Pradesh Ksh Bhabananda Singh, Minister Forest and Environment Th Shyamkumar Singh, Advisor to CM and Govt Chip Whip, MLA Moirang AC P Saratchandra Singh, Chairman MPCB and KVIB, L Radhakishore Singh, Chairman PDA Manipur T Robindro Singh, MLA Kumbi AC S Bira Singh, Ex-Union Minister Th Chaoba and other officials attended the event.
