Imphal, December 18 2021: The Joint Co-ordinating Committee of Engineering Departments, Manipur in a statement has expressed concerned over the non completion of process to increase the daily wages of schedule employees mainly for casual and muster roll employees in the State.

Stating that the prices of essential commodities have increased considerably owing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Committee has sought the attention of the Chief Minister, N Biren Singh to look into the matter and to issue an order in context with the hike of daily wages of schedule employees in the State at the earliest.

The statement also mentioned that an order was issued on December 2017 which set the wages of skilled, semi skilled and unskilled labourers at Rs 273, Rs 248 and Rs 225 respectively.
