Imphal, December 18 2012:
The serving of a notice to the Secretary of Manipur State Legislative Assembly by Opposition MLA Dr I Ibohalbi for moving a Censure Motion in the Assembly Session to sack Minister Md Abdul Nasir is to get back the lost prestige of the State and also to save the reputation of the Congress, veteran politician O Joy of MPP has exclaimed.
Speaking to a select few media persons today, O Joy described the move as a right approach in the interest of the people of the State.
He observed that in accordance to rule no.128 of the Rules and Procedure & Conduct of Business, a Censure motion can be moved on the floor of the House against any Minister or group of Ministers who spoil the image of Parliamentary Democracy.
O Joy pointed out that Minister Md Abdul Nasir assaulted one Alam Azad, a Congress worker in full public view during Sangai Festival on November 25, thus, tarnishing the image of Manipur and bringing shame to the State in front of the whole world.
So, relieving Md Abdul Nasir from Ministership would be the only solution to bring back the lost prestige of the State and its people.
Furthermore, O Joy demanded action against Union Home Minister Shushil Kumar Shinde for allegedly making a mockery of the resolution adopted by State Assembly for re-implementation of Inner Line Permit system to check influx of migrant workers.
