Ukhrul, November 18 2020:
The Hill Districts Private Schools' Association, Manipur (HiDiPSAM) has strongly opposed and condemned the order of November 7 issued by the School Education Commissioner.
President of HiDiPSAM Richard T Haokip has expressed his anguish over the immaturity in modifying the Department's order of October 5 at the behest of certain pressure groups, blatantly overlooking the ground reality and hardships endured by private schools in the hill districts.
He stated that the school authorities shall comply with the new order only when the state Government extends grants to private schools and bears the monthly salaries during the lockdown period which iclude the months of April, May and June for teachers and staff.
Annual academic admission and tuition fees are at its bare minimum, sporadic payment of tuition fees and giving scholarship to meritorious students and concessions to students coming from economically poor backgrounds.
HiDiPSAM denounced the new order issued by the State Education Department and considers it as irresponsible.
HiDiPSAM also stated that they will stand by the order of October 5 and will continue to oppose any new order that may infringe on the school management.
