Security forces scalp two UG Suspects

Two suspected UG cadres have been slain in two separate incidents of reported encounter with security forces in Imphal East and Chandel districts.
The first encounter involving Imphal East commandos took place on the road from Yourabung to Kharasom in Imphal East district at about 9 pm yesterday.
One 9 mm pistol, a hand grenade, one mobile phone handset and Kinetic Honda scooter were recovered from the encounter site.
The body of the deceased, who is yet to be identified, has been deposited at JNIMS morgue.
Another suspected UG cadre was slain in a shoot out with troops of 35 Assam Rifles between Kolmunlen and Khongtal villages, about 35 Kms South East of Chakpikarong police station at about 4.30 pm of September 15. One AK-47 rifle, two magazines, 35 live rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition and 13 spent bullets were recovered near the slain man, informed another police source.
The corpse has been brought to JNIMS morgue after it was handed over to Chakpikarong police station by Assam Rifles personnel.
The deceased who is suspected to be a PREPAK cadre has an elongated face, fair complexion, about 5'5" high and appears to be around 25 years of age.
The man was found attired in a combat dress and his left wrist was tattooed with the symbol of a heart.
Meanwhile, a press release issued by the Officer-in-Charge of Chakpikarong police station said that the corpse would be disposed off as per the relevant law in case the same cannot be identified by 10 am of September 20 .
