Chief Minister O Ibobi and other senior Ministers had protracted talks with the senior representatives of Bar Council of India, Bar Council of Manipur High Court and All Manipur Bar Association on the vexed issue of ILP in Manipur.
This was disclosed by Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam during an impromptu press meet on Friday night.
Ibobi sought all out cooperation of the legal luminaries on the burning issue.
He appealed to them to join hands as one group to help the government draft the ILP Bill.
The draft should be in the style of the withdrawn Bill and it can be submitted to the Government.
The first Bill was drafted after consulting all sections of people including the political parties.
In reply to a question as to what guarantee is there that the second Bill will not meet the same fate, Gaikhangam said that the Bill was the first in India and through trial and error this time death holes will be avoided.
He also said that the government had closed down educational institutions as there was the fear of fresh violence that may lead to bloodshed.
The government is leaving no stone unturned to hold talks with JCILPS and other stake holders.
Once there is a congenial atmosphere the institutions shall be reopened, said the minister.
