UTLA clarifies on bandh

Imphal, March 17 2012: The United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA) has clarified that it did not call any bandh along Imphal-Jiribam highway.

A press release issued by the outfit's information and public relations secretary Anaconda alias Josh contended that those people who called the highway bandh were not genuine members of UTLA.

Moreover, the alleged self appointed chairman SK Thadou is not known to the organisation, it said.

Meanwhile, our Jiribam correspondent reports that the indefinite bandh called by UTLA had little impact on Imphal-Jiribam highway as vehicular movement continued as usual.

Nor there was any report of untoward incidents till the time of filing this report.
