Free children heart surgery camp held

For the second time, a week long free children heart surgery camp was conducted at Sky Hospital Imphal from November 11 to 16 .
In the camp, jointly organised by the Healing Little Hearts (HLH), United Kingdom, Manipur Heart Foundation (MHF) and Sky Hospital, nine children from six hill districts and three valley districts of the State with complex birth heart defects were operated, said a statement of the Sky Hospital today.
The children who benefited from the camp are W Mosingwar (6 years 6 months), s/o W Nelson from Monsang Pantha village, Chandel district; Tochanthang (11 months), d/o Onyab of Narum village, Tengnoupal district; Master Chawan (6 months), s/o of Tikaram Chawan of Kanglatombi, Imphal East; Lianding (8 months), s/o of Lamelson of Kanaan Veng, Churachandpur district; Moirangthem Mangalleibi Chanu (2 years 7 months), d/o M Brojen Meitei of Yourabung Mayai Leikai, Imphal East; Soring Shimray (1 year 1 month), d/o Thompring Shimray of Kanpat Khullen, Ukhrul district; Pauliangsang (1 year 8 months), s/o Hoilalnei of Thingkang Phai village, Churachandpur district; Th Redyson (2 years 7 months), s/o Th Roshan of Khoijuman, Bishnupur district and Haolungthang (2 years 2 months), s/o Sehgin of Kangpokpi Ward No 12, kangpokpi district.
Similar heart surgery camp was organised from March 3 to 9 wherein nine children were treated, said Chief Cardiologist and chairman of Sky Hospital Dr L Shyamkishore in the statement.
Twelve specialists including Dr Yishay Orr, Lead Congenital Cardiac Surgeon of Healing Little Hearts UK and Dr Tim Murphy Paediatric Cardiac Anaesthetist and Dr Saran Durairaj, Paediatric Cardiologist performed the complex surgeries, said Sky Hospital.
