Asiad hero Dingko assaults woman player

Ace boxer Ngangom Dingko Singh, who scripted history by clinching a gold medal at the 13th Asian Games held at Bangkok in 1998, allegedly assaulted a woman player at Khuman Lampak Complex on
January 13 .
The victim has been identified as one weightlifting player, *********** (17) of Moreh Ward No..6She is currently in a critical condition at Shija Hospital, Langol.
According to the victim, Dingko assaulted her at Khuman Lampak Volleyball Ground in the evening of January 13 over a petty matter of scribbling his name on his car's dust covered registration plate.
She simply wrote "Oja Dingko" with her index finger on the registration plate.
Later, she along with other players at Khuman Lampak Hostel were paraded by him and asked to write his name on a piece of paper.
They wrote as instructed by him.
She was then made to stand separately from others as her handwriting matched with the one appeared on his registration plate.
Dingko told her that she had written "Oja Dingko with love from ***" on his car's registration plate, but she clarified that she had written only "Oja Dingko" and anything else.
She was made to lie down on the ground and he repeatedly hit her all over her body with a stick, the victim said.
Even Dingko's family members alleged her of disrupting his personal life through some illegitimate romance and they did not stop Dingko from assaulting her, **** said.
Meanwhile, the family members of **** have condemned Dingko's brutality and said that they would not admit her in the hostel until and unless Dingko is removed from a being a coach there.
