DDA, social workers laud IE DC for releasing rice and chana

Imphal, July 13 2020:
The Deputy Commissioner Imphal East released 67 quintals of rice and 5 bags of chana under the Atma Nibhar Bharat Scheme for the tenants of Dewlahland, stated a press release signed by social workers Ninghan Sareo and Horngam Keishing of Dewlahland Kabo Leikai.
The tenants expressed their gratitude to the DC, ADM and office staff of DC Imphal East, it said and added that relief material have been given twice to the tenants of Dewlahland.
Meanwhile, the Dewlahland Development Authority (DDA) has acknowledged the contributions by social worker Horngam Keishing towards the welfare of tenants/students in Dewlahland Kabo Leikai during the pandemic.
DDA in its statement said that the students/tenants of the area have received rice, oil and other relief items from the Government in May through the tireless efforts of Horngam Keishing while the Tribal Tenant Committee have also distributed rice and beans in June.
However, around 250 tribal tenants were left out due to improper identification.
DDA has lauded the work of Horngam Keishing and stated that he is a genuine social worker.
