Imphal, June 12 2019: The All Manipur School Students Transporters Association (AMSSTA) has condemned the act of setting afire to a school van of SL Kidz Arena School in the night of June 9 near Sawombung gate by some unknown miscreants.

A press release issued by general secretary, AMSSTA stated that SL Kidz Arena School Van Service Union under the aegis of AMSSTA organised a sit in protest at Sawombung today and numerous van service providers of different schools turned up for the protest.

The association urged the party/organisation concerned to come clean on the reason for committing such an act, within five days.

Maintaining that AMSSTA will not remain a mere spectator if such incidents continue to occur in the future, it warned that the association will join hands with CSOs and student organisations and launch stringent agitation.

It further warned that all school vans might even halt service as a part of the agitation.

AMSSTA, considering the interest of the students, further appealed all not to repeat such an act in the future and also sought immediate intervention from the authorities concerned.
