Imphal, May 12 2020: Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) has appealed authorities concerned to fix pay of teachers according to ROP 2011 until the rectification of ROP 2019 .

In an emergency meeting held on May 10, COTA has decided to continue drawing of salary in the pre-revised ROP of 2011 until the ROP 2019 is rectified, said a statement of the association today.

The Manipur Services (Revised Pay) Rules has downgraded all categories of teachers ie Primary teachers, Graduate teachers and Higher Secondary Lecturers under School Education Department, Government of Manipur.

Terming the ROP 2019 "ambiguous" and an "insult" to the teachers community, COTA appealed that the ROP 2019 be rectified in respect of the Primary teachers, Graduate teachers and Higher Secondary Lecturers.
