Protestors lock Dist Health Mission Society offices

Imphal, December 11 2012:
Intensifying the cease work strike being launched by All Manipur National Rural Health Mission Technical Support Staff Union and Association for Block Assistant Finance, Account Managers NRHM, Manipur since December 3, the offices of District Health Mission Society in Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur were locked today.
The agitating staffs proceeded to the offices of District Health Mission Society in Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur and locked them up.
Speaking to reporters in connection with their ongoing agitation, Salam Pari, General Secretary of All Manipur National Rural Health Mission Technical Support Staff Union and Association for Block Assistant Finance, Account Managers NRHM, said that the Association has been launching cease work strike since December 3 to raise 5 different demands.
But still the State Government has failed to come up with any definite solution.
As such the offices of the District Health Mission Society in the three districts have been closed down today.
He also warned of more intense agitations if the demands are not met at the earliest.
The five demands of the Association includes extension of the engagement of contract staffs under NRHM, Manipur; preparation of the structures of the Model Terms and Conditions (Service Rules) of Contract Employment of NRHM contractual employees under State Health Society, Manipur; introduction of smooth rationalization of posting; streamlining of the structures of Basic Pay for each post with comparison to other existing relevant post under the state government; to constitute a pay Commission to streamline the salary of NRHM contractual staffs of Manipur and payment of monthly honorarium for the ASHAs.
