Pending pensions under schemes reach 55,045 beneficiaries

Benefits of schemes under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) - Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS) and Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS), pending since last year were transferred to the respective bank accounts of 55,045 beneficiaries through Public Financial Management System (PFMS) today.
Speaking to media persons at the office of PFMS at North AOC, Social Welfare Director Ng Uttam said that the schemes are implemented with the funding of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
Schemes such as IGNOAPS, IGNDPS, IGNWPS, National Family Benefit Scheme and Annapurna Scheme are implemented under NSAP, he said.
Beneficiaries of IGNOAPS and IGNWPS were given pensions for first six months of last financial year today, he said.
Efforts are on to release and sanction the pension amount for remaining six months of last financial year and current financial year (six months), he added.
Beneficiaries of IGNDPS were provided pension amount for 12 months (last financial year) today through PFMS, he said and informed that pension amount for six months of current financial year has been released by the Ministry.
49,947 old age pensioners, 981 differently abled poisoners and 4,107 widow pensioners were given pension amounts to Rs 7,25,87,000 today, he said informing that about Rs 19.13 crore has been released by the Ministry for further disbursement.
However, there are still unverified/defective accounts.
List of such beneficiaries - Old age -5275, differently abled - 1427 and widow- 173 will be uploaded on website soon, he said informing beneficiaries concerned to check and verify their details of Aadhaar and bank accounts.
Details mentioned in the Aadhaar should match details in the respective bank account.
He also advised beneficiaries who have more than one bank accounts linked with Aadhaar to check balances of all their bank accounts to see if they are getting the benefits of the scheme concerned.
