Free dental camp conducted for IDPs

A free dental health camp was conducted at Ibudhou Khamlangba community hall, Kakching Khunou in the interest of internally displaced persons settled at the Khomdonbi Memorial English School Relief Camp.
The IDPs reportedly hail from Serou, Sugnu, Wapokpi, Napat and Tenjeng Ahallup under Sugnu and Kumbi ACs.
The camp was organised by the Development Committee, Kakching Khunou who are responsible for the smooth functioning of the Khomdonbi Memorial English School Relief Camp.
Roughly 50 medical staff from Indian Medical Association (IDA) Manipur State Branch and Dental College, RIMS Imphal rendered their valuable service to over 200 conflict survivors from the camp including children and senior citizens.
Aside from dental consultations for various dental-related ailments, the medical staff also performed minor operations in a Dental Mobile Van.
Speaking in this connection, M Ratan, convenor, Development Committee, Kakching Khunou lauded the help extended by Sugnu AC MLA K Ranjit since the establishment of the relief camp as well as the aid received from CSOs, Anganwadi centres, local clubs, MO in-charge, PHC Kakching Khunou and S Premchandra, MLA Kumbi AC.
He further voiced the need for more extensive health camps that can treat ailments related to medicine, gynaecology, ortho and eye problems.
Meanwhile, relief camp inmate W Subhash disclosed that the conflict survivors suffer from numerous mental and physical ailments but due to poor financial condition, they simply suffer through their illnesses.
Thus he expressed the need for a mega medical health camp that can provide treatment for a wide range of diseases.
