Imphal, September 10 2024: In view of the strong and sustained students' protest in the valley districts, curfew has been clamped in Imphal West and Imphal East with effect from 11 am of September 10 .

Separate orders issued by Imphal West District Magistrate Th Kirankumar and Imphal East Additional District Magistrate Dr N Johnson Meetei today said that in view of the unfolding law and order situation, the curfew relaxation order from 5 am to 10 pm has been cancelled with effect from 11 am of September 10 .

The order said that there will be total curfew in Imphal East and Imphal West with immediate effect and until further orders.

However, movement of persons belonging to essential services such as Health, PHED, Municipal officials/staff, power (MSPCL/MSPDCL), petrol pumps, functioning of Courts, to and fro movement of flight passengers and media personnel would be exempted from the curfew, the orders mentioned.
