Imphal, September 10 2021: Some persons allegedly torched a flag of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at Lamdeng under Lamsang constituency.

The BJP Lamsang Mandal has condemned the incident and demanded a police probe.

Speaking to the media, BJP Lamsang Mandal president Y Muhindro said that the flag hoisted at the house of one Th Meghachandra at Lamdeng Mayai Leikai was burned by about six people on the intervening night of September 8 and 9 .

He claimed that the same group of people intimidated Meghachandra to pull down the BJP's flag on September 8 last.

Y Muhindro then urged the authorities concerned to bring all culprits to book.

It is reported that the name of the alleged arsonists are mentioned in the complaint lodged to police.
