Ukhrul, September 10 2020:
The Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long (TNWL) has strongly come out against the State Government for alleged unfair treatment between the MGNREGS employees of the valley and hill districts.
Secretary of TNWL, DS Zimik stated that hill district employees under MGNREGS Act should have their services regularised like their counterparts in the valley.
He added that the staffs in the valley were regularised in 2016 while the same initiative is yet to reach the hill employees and claimed that this is a deprivation of their service rights.
He also stated that despite persistent demands and their pleas for regularisation of services, the Government has not taken any action.
TNWL further appealed the State Government to look into the grievances of the hill MGNREGS employees and to fulfil their demands.
DS Zimik also mentioned that the Tangkhul Headmen Association will not remain as mute spectators in case the Government fails to redress their issue.
He also added that TNWL will endorse any form of democratic movement against the Government for alleged deprivation of service rights to the hill district employees.
