Guardians should maintain rapport with teachers: Okendro

Emphasizing on the need to enhance the education system of the State, Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro has appealed to the students' guardians to maintain rapport with the school teachers.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of the 30th foundation day celebration of Don Bosco High School, Langjing held at the school premises here today.
Minister Okendro further said that the guardians tend to maintain good rapport with the teachers in private schools to bring about overall development of the students.
Likewise, guardians should not hesitate to maintain rapport with the government school teachers.
The entire education system of the State can be improved only when both private and government educational institutions are equally developed.
The Government has no bias between private and government schools, he contended.
The Minister maintained that the prime objective of the State Government is to achieve 100 percent literacy rate along with building up human resources through various schemes and programmes for development of education right from the primary level to university.
The Government is committed to achieve self-reliance in education so that huge amount of money spent on education to other states can be saved.
Minister Okendro also announced that teachers' training schools would be established in every district to offer B.Ed courses to the aspiring teachers.
The foundation day celebration was also attended by founder Principal George Menamparambil, Principal Jose Nellisseril and Head Mistress S Dhaneshwari.
Meritorious students and teachers of the school were also felicitated along with presentation of various cultural items during the foundation day celebration.
