Issue of discrimination in disbursement of salaries amongst various departments raised

Imphal, June 09 2022: The Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Union Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) has conducted a series of meetings with various heads of departments and other officers in connection with "discrimination/preferred treatment in the disbursement of salaries amongst various departments" and other issues.

As per a statement, during a special meeting with the Special Secretary (Finance), JAC of AMTUC & AMGEO notified him of the alleged discrimination in disbursement of salaries and he subsequently acknowledged their point.

The JAC also requested him to disburse salaries for all departments under the Government of Manipur in a single day, the statement added.

Further, the statement added that in a series of meetings with the heads of departments, the JAC discussed handing over of Pension Book/PPO on the date of retirement and urged the department heads to issue termination order 6 months prior to the date of retirement so that the pension process can start earlier and PPO be given on the day of retirement.

The JAC also received assurance from the heads of departments that they will look into the matter of missing credit regarding GPF of employees and advise the concerned sections of their departments to handle the issues at the earliest, the statement further shared.

It may be noted that during the course of the meetings, the importance of scrapping the National pension Scheme and reinstating the Old pension Scheme was also discussed.
