Fisherman card enrolment programme held

Bishnupur, January 09 2025: Under the guidance of National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), the Loktak Development Authority in collaboration with Department of Fisheries, Government of Manipur, Sinheibi Development Organisation and Champu Khangpok Floating Village Conservation & Management Committee, Loktak Lake organised a fisherman card enrolment programme at Champu Khangpok floating village yesterday.

The enrolment program will help to integrate the fisherfolk of Champu Khangpok floating village into modem financial and institutional frameworks.

As part of the National Fisheries Digital Platform under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kiran Samridhi Sah-Yojana (PM-MKSSY), the fisherman card will link the community to various Government initiatives, fostering financial inclusion and economic security.

By providing access to critical financial services, welfare schemes, and other resources, the initiative aims to empower the residents of Champu Khangpok, enhancing their livelihoods and overall well-being.

The initiative not only strengthens their financial resilience but also fosters the sustainable development of Loktak Lake, ensuring its ecosystem remains intact for future generations.
