Imphal, February 08 2020: A first ever BRM (Brevets de Randonneurs Mondiaux) event was organised in the State in which a 200 km bicycle ride was taken out by 19 riders on January 12 .

18 of the riders, including two ladies, accomplished the brevet by completing the ride within the stipulated 13 and 1/2 hours, said a press release issued by president of Manipur Adventure and Mountain Bikers Association (MAAMBA).

They covered a route, which started from Imphal towards Lamlai and turned back to Kakching and then on to Serou along the Trans Asian Highway No 1 and finally looped back to the city along Moirang and the foothills of the Waroiching-Keithelmanbi hill range.

The event was conducted by Imphal Randonneurs under the aegis of Audax India Randonneurs and Audax Club Parisien of Paris (the International governing body for randonneuring that administers and oversees the conduct of BRMs worldwide) .

Brevet rides of 300km, 400km etc will be coming soon, it added.
