Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), Manipur Pradesh has resolved to submit all applications for candidature in the coming Lok Sabha Election to the Central Election Committee and Central Parliamentary Board of the BJP.
The resolution was taken during a meeting of Election Committee of BJP Manipur Pradesh held at Hotel Nirmala here today.
The meeting was held from 10 am up to 1 pm.
The 15 members of the Election Committee and some other veteran leaders of the State BJP attended the meeting and discussed the matter of Lok Sabha Election at length.
It may be noted that BJP Manipur Pradesh has received applications from seven aspiring candidates to contest the coming Lok Sabha Election in two Parliamentary Constituencies of the State.
Prof Gangmumei Kamei, Loli Adani and Yanglet Haokip have applied for Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, while Dr RK Ranjan, Lt Col (Retd) RK Rajendra, Lt Col (Retd) Chungkham Joyraj and Oinam Indira are the aspirants for Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
The BJP leaders, who were present at the meeting, gave their own opinions and observations on all aspiring candidates of the coming Lok Sabha Election.
After three hours of deliberation, the BJP leaders resolved to forward all applications to the party's Central Election Committee and Central Parliamentary Board for the final selection of candidates.
On the other hand, more than 1500 people from Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency joined BJP Manipur Pradesh during a mass enrolment campaign organized by BJP Mayang Imphal Mandal at Mayang Imphal Anilongbi Lampak today.
