NIT girl student missing

A 24-year-old 7th semester girl student of NIT, Manipur has been missing since she left her house for her hostel at NIT campus, Takyelpat in the morning of August 4 .
The girl has been identified as Moirangthem Romi Chanu d/o Jamuna of D Phailien Leimaram Leikai, near Royal Academy School, Churachandpur.
Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club, girl's mother Moirangthem Jamuna said that hostel authority told her that Romi was seen leaving the hostel at around 1 pm on August 4 .
The worried mother said that Romi's mobile phone has been switched off since then.
According to hostel authorities, Romi was wearing a cream coloured quarter sleeve shirt and a black trouser and she was carrying a 20 kg blue black coloured trolley bag when she was last seen at the hostel, Jamuna said.
Jamuna expressed suspicion that Romi might be abducted by some people for money as she had over Rs 20,000, which she took from Jamuna for admission fee before she left their house that day.
Saying that Romi is a meritorious student and she is pursuing higher education after getting scholarship, Jamuna ruled out the possibility of her daughter's elopement with anybody.
Jamuna said that she has filed a missing report at Lamphel police station today.
She also urged the concerned to free her daughter safely if anybody has abducted her.
