Orders to ban 11 energy drinks

Imphal, June 07 2015 : Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has withdrawn the NOC for 11 energy drink products of four companies and directed the FBOs to recall the products from the market, which are to be immediately stopped from manufacturing, selling, distributing and importing.

The products are Monster Energy and Monster Energy Absolutely Zero manufactured by M/S Monster Energy India Private Limited, Mumbai, Tzinga Energy Drink (Lemont Mint), Tzinga Energy Drink (Tropical Trip) and Tzinga Drink (Mango Strawberry) manufactured by M/S Hectar Beverages Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon, Cloud 9 Pomegranat Energy Drink, Cloud 9 Red Grapes Energy Drink, Cloud 9 Wild Berry Energy Drink and Cloud 9 Premium Energy Drink, and Akaroma-M (Flavour Concentrate) and Akoaroma Flavour Water manufactured by M/S Akoaroma Co, Chnnai.

In this regard, FSSAI has urged Food Safety Officers of all States and Union Territories and Central Licensing Authority, FSSAIU to take necessary action at their end.
