Jagat, Ibobi greet people on Yaoshang

Governor Gurbachan Jagat and Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh have extended greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Yaoshang, the festival of colours.
In his message to the people, Jagat observed that festival of colours 'Yaoshang' is celebrated at the onset of Spring and marks the rejuvenation of the spirit of life.
"Celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm, the festival exhorts us to forget our differences and spread the message of love, friendship and brotherhood and unity amongst us, irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
On this occasion, all of us should resolve to work together for upholding peace, communal harmony, broyherhood and unity in the society.
This is the need to the hour and what our society calls for", the Governor said.

Conveying his greeting, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh pointed out Yaoshang, one of the biggest festivals of Manipur, is an occasion for joy and reconciliation.
The festival offers an opportunity for us toset aside our differences and to come and rejoice together.
The spirit of love, harmony and friendship is what is emphasized by Yaoshang.
The message of Yaoshang is very relevant for us today when the need of the hour is peace and harmony.
