Imphal, January 07 2022: The proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Pro) has claimed responsibility for the IED blast at Lilong Usoipokpi in Thoubal district which killed one Assam Rifles jawan from Arunachal Pradesh and injured another from Tripura on January 5 last.

A statement issued by Th Eshingchaoba, assistant publicity secretary of the outfit stated that the IED blast at Lilong Usoipokpi was carried out by a team of Cobra Task Force-3 of PREPAK Progressive.

The outfit sympathized with the grief and sadness of the jawans' families who are from WESEA region and added, "such unfortunate outcomes compelled us to curb our abilities in the past" .

It also said that India leaders never explain the root causes of the insurgency issues in the region.

Further stating that they have the resources to carry out similar actions as that of Usoipokpi, the outfit cautioned that such a action will continue endlessly as long as Central security forces are stationed in Kangleipak.
