Imphal, September 06 2015:
The signing of Naga Peace Accord on August 3 between Government of India and NSCN (IM) without consulting the Manipur Government is a trap which could disintegrate Manipur, alleged Janata Dal United (JDU) Manipur State.
JD (U) Manipur State president Moirangthem Tombi during a press meet here at the party office on Sunday recalled that many innocent lives were claimed and handicapped in Manipur during BJP rule in 2001 .
The recently signed peace accord is not an accord since the State Government was not consulted this time also, said Tombi while adding that the agreement is another trap of the BJP-led Government at the Centre to crumble the territorial integrity of the State.

Tombi declared that a memorandum on the issue has been already submitted to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and JD(U) National president Sarad Yadav on September 1 urging them to make known to all political parties of India the details of the peace accord.
The memorandum consists of three demands, added Tombi.
Terming the continuous unrest situation in Manipur as unfortunate, the JD(U) leader said that Nagas, Kukis, Brahmins, Pangals and Meeteis in Manipur are all indigenous communities.
The three bills were passed in the Manipur State Assembly after JCILPS which spearheaded the ILPS movement welcomed all suggestions from all political parties, intellectuals and different organizations, said Tombi while reiterating that inciting communal feelings by a few sections will not do anything good in the State.
Extending deepest condolence to the eight civilians killed in the Churachandpur incident, Tombi also urged the Manipur Government to take up necessary actions.
He appealed for a joint meeting of hill leaders and civil society organizations to avoid potential communal tension.
Demanding immediate suspension of security personnel involved in the killing of eight civilians in the Churachandpur violence, JD (U) Manipur State Secretary General Lien Gangte also urged the Manipur Government to reinstate the internet service in the State.
He further appealed to HNC, KIM, Zoumi Council and other hill organizations to consider the statement of Chief Minister who has welcomed suggestions for making amendment to the three bills.
