4-day training programme on health and wellness commences

A four-day training programme on health and wellness for school teachers under Ayushman Bharat was kicked off at the Multipurpose Hall of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) today.
The training programme was jointly organised by the Directorate of SCERT, Lamphelpat in association with State Health Society, Manipur and Education (S).
The event was graced by Dr A Chinglenkhomba Meitei, SCERT Director; Khulem Asokumar, Joint Director; Dr Y Nandini, Nodal Officer; Dr Jubli, Nodal Officer, Health & Wellness Programme, State Health Society and L Kamala, Assistant Director, Education (S).
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Chinglenkhomba Meitei stated that the training program is organised annually in various districts of the State.
It is necessary to provide training to school teachers of the State on the topic of health and wellness, he added.
It will enable teachers to impart more information to their students.
In order to create a better society, it is important for teachers to pay more attention to the needs of students.
Health education will benefit the State in multiple ways, he stated.
Meanwhile, resource persons spoke at length on the topic "Growing up healthy" and "Prevention and management of substance misuse".
Teachers from different schools also participated in the training programme.
