19 KNLF cadres surrender to AR

Imphal, July 05 2013 :
Altogether 19 cadres of Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF) including a second-in-command of its armed wing and four other outfit's top leaders laid down arms and surrendered to 9th Assam Rifles at Moreh yesterday.
According to a reliable source, the cadres surrendered themselves along with several arms and ammunitions to 9th Assam Rifles posted at Moreh near border pillar no.80 area at around 5:30 pm yesterday.
The surrendered cadres have been identified as second-in-command of armed wing Lunminthang, operational commander Thangne, commander of finance wing Waan Seipao, public relations officer Lethong, commander-II of finance wing Thongkholun and Sergeant Heslun alias Laltan.
Other surrendered cadres who are in the rank of Private are Hemlun Dalton of Langkhon village and L Franky Kuki of Kholen village, all in Senapati district; Khanglhi of Tobung village, Chandel district; Lelen of Tuibuong village, Letminlun of Patlian village, Ngangam of Gamphajol village, Francis Kuki of Tuinom village, all in Churachandpur district; John Kuki, Mamang Mate and Thongnel, all residents of Moreh Ward No-I; Haokholen, Romeo, Neosen Baite, all from Moreh Ward No-II, and Sangboi of Thunglen Veng, Moreh Ward No-9 .
The arms and ammunitions surrendered by the cadres included three M-16 rifles, one M-15 rifle, one AK-22 rifle, one US carbine, one .32 pistol and one 60 mm mortar along with 150 live ammunitions of M-16 and M-15, 50 rounds of AK-22, 38 rounds of US carbine and three mortar shells, sources said.
