Transgender activist submits memo

Transgender activist Malem Thongam, who has been on indefinite hunger strike since February 22 demanding the restoration of peace in Manipur, submitted a memorandum to Patsoi AC MLA Sapam Kunjakeswor Singh (Keba) on Friday.
Malem Thongam visited the residence of the MLA in Tera and handed over the memorandum to the MLA's PRO, marking the launch of her stir at the residences & quarters of valley MLAs which will continue till the conduct of the Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to media persons, Malem Thongam said that the people especially the Meira Paibis have been appealing to the Government to consider the prevailing situation of the State and postpone the Lok Sabha Election in Manipur.
She also expressed anguish over the manner in which the Government has decided to hold the Lok Sabha Election without addressing the violence & instability in Manipur.
Malem continued that she will be submitting the memorandum to all the MLAs and urged them to fulfil their duties/responsibilities towards the people of Manipur.
