Health and Family Welfare Director Dr K Rajo has announced that the 2nd round of Intensified Mission Indradhanush under the National Health Mission, will be launched at Tamenglong district (covering Noney) and Chandel district (covering Tengnoupal) tomorrow.
Speaking to media persons at the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, BT Road, today, Dr K Rajo continued that the 2nd round will last 7 days.
During these 7 days, there will be 253 sessions under which 818 children (upto 2 years of age) and 351 pregnant mothers will be vaccinated.
He explained that if anyone from the target group fails to get vaccinated, they will not be able to fend off various illnesses and diseases like polio, Japanese Encephalitis, TB, diphtheria, hepatitis B and Rota virus etc.
Dr Rajo then appealed all those who failed to get vaccinated in the past from Tamenglong, Noney, Chandel and Tengnoupal area to come and participate in the programme.
He also appealed to all the local bodies, Church authorities etc to offer all possible support to the initiative as well.
On the other hand, the Director informed that the 3rd round of Intensified Mission Indradhanush will be carried out from February 3 while the 4th round will be carried out from March 2 and added that all necessary preparations have been made to ensure the success of the campaign.
