Mosquito nets distributed

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has provided 5,000 mosquito nets for internally displaced people staying at relief camps across Manipur.
A bulk of the mosquito nets were distributed to displaced people staying at relief camps in Langmeidong in Kakching district today.
The mosquito nets were distributed through New Leaf Association (NeLA)-an NGO, under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme during a function held at Langmeidong Panchayat Ghar's Community Hall.
Hiyanglam AC MLA Dr Radheshyam Yumnam, NeLA Project Coordinator Ngangbam Roberth, Langmeidong United Clubs' Organisation president Soibam Joy, Kakching SDO M Ingocha, social worker Y Nilamani and Langmeidong Relief Camp Nodal officer Dr S Brojendro attended the programme.
People displaced by the current conflict from Serou, Sugnu and adjoining areas have been staying at several camps opened at Langmeidong since May 28 .
About 1,600 mosquito nets will be distributed in Kakching district through Deputy Commissioner, said NeLA Project Coordinator Ng Roberth.
IRCTC will provide another 5,000 mosquito nets for displaced people under its CSR programme, he said.
As a part of the event, MLA Radheshyam Yumnam distributed pension cards for widows, disability certificates and old age pension cards.
