International Nurses Week observed

Community Health Officers (CHO) observed "International Nurses Week" today on the theme "Nurse: The balance of mind, body and spirit" at the hall of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Lamphelpat.
Vumlunmang Vualnam, Principle Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Dr K Rajo Singh, Director, Health Services, Dr S Manikanta Singh, Mission Director, State Health Society and S Roma, Joint Director, Nursing, GoM presided the function as chief guest, guests of honour and president respectively.
Speaking at the event, Dr K Rajo stated that International Nurses Day is observed globally on May 12 (the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth) every year to mark the contribution of nurses to the society.
Saying that nurses are the backbone of health service and their contribution cannot be ignored, Dr Rajo maintained that Community Health Service is continuously providing health care services to the people of all sections through its new programme "Community Comprehensive Primary Health Care" .
