Committee demands CBI probe into Pravish death case

Imphal, January 03 2018:
Lambasting the failure of police to crack the death case of Pravish Chanam from Uripok Achom Leikai, Bazar Committee has demanded the Central Government and the State Government to hand over the death case to CBI at the earliest.
Addressing newspersons at Manipur Press Club today, Ashok Agarwal of Bazar Committee said that handing over the case to CBI would ensure justice for the victim's family.
He also demanded the culprits involved in the killing be awarded stern punishment in accordance with the law.

Babul Kansabarik of Bengali Samaj, Manmeet Arora of Panjabi Samaj, Bijoy Patni of Jain Samaj, Sikandar Shah of Bihari Samaj, Pawan Gothwal of Bharman Samaj and several other members of the committee were present at the press meet.
It may be mentioned that Pravish Chanam (22) who had come to attend a music concert in Noida on September 8 last went missing after the event.
He was later found dead near a hospital where he had been reportedly hospitalised.
Three days after his death, Uttar Pradesh police cremated his body without even informing his family.
However, mystery looms around all the events that lead to his death, ranging from how he went missing to his subsequent hospitalisation and death.
