Government giving priority to uplift minorities in the State

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has conveyed that the Government would give its priority to uplift the minorities and weaker sections of the society.
He stated this while attending the Silver Jubilee Celebration of All Manipur Muslims (Meitei Pangal) Welfare Association at Hotel Imphal, North AOC Imphal today.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, N Biren said that politics does not aim to create division and break the cordial relationship among various communities but to bring an inclusive development and harmony in the State.
The Government is committed to deliver good governance at the grassroots, he added.
Until there is no inclusive development in the State, there won't be peace and harmony in the State, he added.
He mentioned that the present Government is action oriented and has initiated various welfare activities which the public will witness soon.
He stated that we need to find the root cause and figure out the solution of various antisocial activities happening in the State.
Mentioning that various welfare schemes have been initiated for the welfare of the people and inclusive development in the State, Biren said that the Government does not discriminate anyone on the basis of religion, caste, community etc.
On the occasion, the CM announced that a sum of Rs 2 crore has been earmarked in the State budget for the construction of Women's Market at Lilong and added that the Government would also construct Model schools in minority concentrated areas of the State, he added.
A Sadbhavana Mandap would also be constructed at Lilong, he assured.
He also launched the website of AMPWA and scheme for skill development programme meant for youth and widows.
A souvenir titled "AMPWA: The Journey of 25 years" was also released during the function.
Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly K Robindro Singh, MLA Wabagai A/C Md Fazur Rahim, MLA Jiribam A/C Asab Uddin, Additional Chief Secretary Dr Suhel Aktar, Chairperson of Manipur State Minorities Commission Dr Syed Burhanuddin, President of All Manipur Muslims (Meitei Pangal) Welfare Association A R Khan and others attended the function.
