Imphal, August 02 2020:
The community quarantine centre opened at Manipur College for Singjamei Assembly segment was closed today.
During the past three months, around 316 Manipuri people who came back from outside the State were quarantined.
All of them have been sent back after they tested negative for COVID-19 .
With Speaker Y Khemchand as the chief guest, a closing function was held at the college today.
Speaking at the occasion, Khemchand appealed to all the people to adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Government of India from time to time.
Citing the rapid surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the State, the Speaker called upon all the people to fight the contagion collectively instead of putting all the responsibilities on the Government.
He also underscored the importance of keeping one's immune system strong and strict adherence to all the guidelines and SOP so as to keep COVID-19 at bay.
He also conveyed gratitude to all the volunteers who attended to the inmates of the community quarantine centre.
