State women meet Sonia in New Delhi, petition for Landhoni

A group of women from the state met with Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi at New Delhi and drew her attention to the release of Kh Landhoni who is currently in the Guwahati jail after she was detained by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The state women team who met with Sonia Gandhi recently included general secretary L Ramani of Nupi Samaj, president Th Sakhi of AMKIL, president Kh Momon of All Manipur Tammi-Chingmi Nupi Lup and M Sorojini Devi of Universal Mothers' Association.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, L Ramani said that they met Sonia Gandhi on May 31 for about 40 minutes and briefed about the family condition of Landhoni and requested her to intervene considering her little child who needed her mother's care very much.
After a patient hearing, Sonia assured that she will brought up the matter to the level of Prime Minister and Home Minister and look into whether there is possibility of releasing Landhoni, Ramani claimed.
