Shidharth selected for JENESYS prog

Moirangthem Shidarth is
among 22 students of India selected to participate in
Japan-East Asia Network of
Exchange for Students and
Youths (JENESYS) pro-
gramme.
JENESYS
Programme is a project ad-
vanced by the Japanese
Government with an objective
of providing a sound founda-
tion for strong solidarity with
SAARC member nations
through large-scale youth ex-
change.
Moirangthem Shidarth, a
class XI student of Kendra
Vidyalaya No 1, Lamphelpat
is the son of Education Min-
ister M Okendro.
Shidarth will participate in
the 10-day programme organ-
ised by Japan International
Cooperation Centre (JICE)
from March 6.
The Ministry of External
Affairs, Govt of India se-
lected 22 students all over
India for participation in the
programme.
Shidarth is the
lone student selected from
Silchar Region.
A total of 96 student del-
egates from SAARC
countries such as Afghani-
stan, Bangladesh, Bhutan,
India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will
participate in the programme .
