State level seminar ends

A two-day long State level seminar on 'Development
experiences in hill areas of Manipur : Problems and prospects',
held at Rayburn College concluded today with six scholars
presenting papers that touched the diversified facet of the hill
areas, our correspondent reports.
On Saturday, Prof Dr W Vishwanath Singh, Registrar
Manipur University inaugurated the seminar in the pres-
ence of several eminent scholars and intellectuals at
Rayburn College's auditorium.
On the first day, Dr Thathang Vaiphei and David L
Lungtau presented their papers on 'Village tourism : Sus-
tainable socio-economic development for the tribals' and
'Rethinking development in Manipur with reference to the
hill areas : Problems and prospects' with Prof N Mohendro
Singh in the chair.
Dr Damodar Nepram, Dr N Somorendro, Dr
Sheikhohao Kipgen and Dr Thienkhogin Haokip also pre-
sented their papers at the seminar.
Prof Dr N Rajmohan Singh, RK Dilip Singh, and K
Vungzamawi also presented their papers in the third and
fourth sessions of the seminar today .
