Tengnoupal, December 31 2017:
A team of Tengnoupal district police inspected the no man lands, located between Border Pillar No 78 and 79 after it came to light that Myanmar authorities took up ground levelling work at the said area yesterday.
Speaking to media persons, DC, Raghumani stated that although the levelling work was stopped by Tengnoupal police under the supervision of the SP, it is unfortunate that the Myanmar authority did not attempt to request or notify the security personnel and police of the border town.
The authorities of Myanmar should have followed the necessary protocol and notified the State officials first.
Meanwhile, locals who took up pig farming in the border town will be instructed to evict before January 3 .
In connection with the incident, a formal letter will be sent to Myanmar State Government and its DC, he added.
Officials of 11 AR also took part in the inspection, reports our correspondent.
